Pat Kracker Breast Cancer Fund to Celebrate 25th Anniversary

The Pat Kracker Breast Cancer Fund has now helped Richland County women fight breast cancer for 25 years! The public is invited to celebrate with them at a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday, July 14th from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm at the Westbrook Country Club.

The Pat Kracker Breast Cancer Fund was established by Dave Kracker in 1996 in memory of his wife Pat, who died of breast cancer on her 61st birthday. Dave is a past Executive Director of the Richland County Children Services.

“Breast cancer is a disease that affects many of us in Richland County,” says Founder Dave Kracker. “The Fund helps Richland County women ‘before’ and ‘when’ breast cancer strikes. The Fund helps pay for breast cancer screening, required follow up diagnostic services, and unexpected costs associated with breast cancer.”

“The Pat Kracker Breast Cancer Fund has a strong support network,” says Rhonda Breit, Fund Chairperson and breast cancer survivor. “The Fund could not operate without Richland County businesses and residents who raise funds and donate each year. They share their profits and/or raise money through special events, or donate individually.”

The Fund’s Committee, many who are breast cancer survivors, serve as liaisons to breast cancer patients and survivors and donate time to help with fundraising activities. The Fund’s corporate affiliate relationships help broaden breast cancer education, support, and financial assistance to Richland County residents.

“Join us for our ribbon cutting to commemorate an important milestone as we continue to move forward,” adds Rhonda.
