Pink Duck Adoption Helps Fight Breast Cancer

Fifteen area “Fund Raiser Participants”  and their customers helped fight breast cancer in Richland County through iHeart Radio’s Adopt-A-Duck campaign.

“iHeart Radio was proud to once again help the Pat Kracker Breast Cancer Fund fight breast cancer in Richland County,” says Margie Tasseff, iHeart Radio Market President. “iHeart Radio thanks participating businesses and the customers who adopted a duck for their help in such a worthy cause.”

iHeart Radio distributed 1,000 pink ducks to 15 area businesses. Customers of those businesses were given an opportunity in the month of October to adopt one of the pink ducks for five dollars, the adoption fee donated to the Pat Kracker Breast Cancer Fund. In addition, adopting customers would receive a ‘duck discount’ at the business.

The Pat Kracker Breast Cancer Fund was established in memory of Pat Kracker, a Richland County resident who lost her battle with breast cancer on her 61st birthday. The Fund encourages early breast cancer detection and provides financial support to Richland County residents who are stricken with breast cancer.
